Does Free require a cloud account?
No. Local storage and download work without any external account.
Is verification Free?
Yes. Verification and backup manifests are core Free features.
Where are backups stored?
Under a protected directory in uploads (shown on the Storage screen), typically wp-content/uploads/stalza-backup.
Can I restore without a safety snapshot?
Admin restores always create a safety snapshot first. CLI supports --skip-safety for local testing only.
How do scheduled backups run?
Through WordPress cron (stalza_backup_cron_run). On hosts where WP-Cron is unreliable, use real system cron. See Cron not running.
Multisite?
v1 targets single site. Multisite-aware recovery is on the roadmap.
Does it slow my site?
Backup and restore jobs run in budgeted chunks. Front-end visitors are not part of the backup loop.
