Schedules
Automate daily or weekly backups with retention and exclusions.
What it does
Schedule automatic backups so you do not rely on remembering to click Backup Now.
Settings
Open Stalza Backup → Schedules:
- Schedule — Off, Daily, or Weekly
- Time — site timezone
- Day — weekday when Weekly is selected
- Backup type — full, database, files, or media
- Retention — how many recent daily and older weekly backups to keep
- Exclusions — extra paths (one per line, relative to the site root)
Cache folders, the upgrade directory, and Stalza’s own backup directory are always excluded.
Cron
Schedules use WordPress cron (stalza_backup_cron_run). On hosts where WP-Cron is unreliable, trigger real system cron:
wp cron event run --due-now
