Stalza

Storage

Local protected storage path, manual disk usage check, and download.

What it does

Free stores backup zips under a protected path inside uploads (typically wp-content/uploads/stalza-backup). Archives are not meant to be publicly browsable.

Storage screen

Stalza Backup → Storage shows:

  • Disk total / free (live from the server volume)
  • Site usage (full WordPress install, excluding Stalza backup storage)
  • Backup usage (bytes under the protected storage path)
  • Provider, path, and writable status

Site and backup sizes are not scanned on every page load. Click Check storage to measure them. The screen shows Last checked with the timestamp of that run.

Measurement prefers the OS du tool when the host allows it (fast, exact on-disk usage). If du is blocked, Stalza walks files in PHP with a generous budget so typical sites still finish.

If a PHP fallback still cannot finish an extremely large tree, Stalza shows About X GB (incomplete) — never as a final size — and hides the capacity bar until a complete check finishes.

The capacity bar includes an Other slice for everything else on the same volume (other sites, system files). On shared hosting, site + backups + free will not equal the full disk.

Download

Use Download on a history row to pull the zip through WordPress (capability + nonce protected).

Later

Cloud destinations (S3, Drive, Dropbox, and Stalza Cloud) are on the roadmap. Local backup works without an external account.
