Cron not running

Scheduled backups never start when WP-Cron is starved.

Symptoms

  • Next backup time never advances
  • Overview shows a schedule but no new history rows

Fixes

  1. Confirm Schedules is not set to Off.
  2. Visit the site or hit wp-cron.php so due events run.
  3. Prefer real system cron:
*/5 * * * * cd /path/to/wordpress && wp cron event run --due-now >/dev/null 2>&1
  1. Disable alternate cron plugins that block DISABLE_WP_CRON without a replacement.
