License activation
Activate a Stalza Security Pro license key, manage seats, and understand grace periods.
Pro license keys are purchased on stalza.com and managed in your portal (or local app domain).
Activate
- Install the Pro zip (not the WordPress.org free build).
- Open Stalza Security → Settings.
- Paste your
SWS-…key and click Activate.
The plugin calls stalza.com, binds the key to this site URL, and unlocks Pro feature flags.
Seat limits
Plans differ only by how many sites you can activate:

If activation returns site limit, deactivate an unused site from the portal or Settings, or upgrade the pack.
Grace and expiry
- While the subscription is valid, Pro features stay on and signed updates are available.
- After expiry (or if the site cannot reach stalza.com), the last known Pro features stay on for 7 days (grace).
- After grace, the plugin falls back to free behavior. Your findings and settings are not deleted.
- Updates stop at expiry — renew on stalza.com to keep receiving Pro builds.
Deactivate
Use Deactivate this site on Settings when moving a license to another domain. Portal → Security also lists activated sites.
Local testing
Developers can set STALZA_SEC_LICENSE_MOCK in wp-config.php (valid, grace, revoked, …). See LOCAL-EDITIONS.md in the plugin repo. Never enable mocks on production.
